So CVS will not allow me to tell you what I really think of this item, the system prevents it. So use your imagination and imagine the absolute worst thing you ever bought and replace it with this.

I don't think this ever read a temperature higher than 95 degrees. I tried it on myself when I was not sick and it read 94.7. Tried to use it once when my son clearly had a fever and it was 95.6. Went to the doctor's office immediately after and he was over 100.

This does not work. It doesn't read out any temperature even though I read and followed the directions. Don't waste your money.

consistently reads fevers lower then they are- and often below normal body temperature.
Today it read 96.4 and my son's temperature (rectal) was 99.4

Reviewed 10 years agoLove CVS but this Thermometer is not accurate
This thermometer does not work. Gives a different reading each time all far below normal temperature. CVS seems to be a great store, much more a fan of CVS than Walgreens; but, unfortunately this product seems to have a history of bad reviews. My husband picked it up for me when I was sick, wish we had read reviews first.

This thermometer consistently read 2-3 degrees f lower than two other thermometers I tested it against. Unacceptable error and I threw it away.

Thank goodness we had our old standby (regular digital thermometer). This ear thermometer consistently gave us results five to six degrees below actual. Repeated attempts to take a temp actually reduced the result shown. I wish I could return this item and purchase the name brand instead if I knew it would work better. Will stick with our regular digital thermometer.
