This thermometer really does not work. I wish I hadn't been such a cheap shopper when I purchased it. I have been at home not feeling well for the last week and the temperature gauge only read 97 degrees when I was hot to the touch. This evening after taking a very hot shower, it read 94. I check both ears and consistently get a temperature difference of 1 to 2 degrees. The same thing happens when my husband uses it. We have even tried using it on one another. This was a very poor purchase and I do not plan on buying another off-brand thermometer in the future.

The thermometer is not accurate, it consistently reads an extremely low temperature between 90 and 94. degrees and it has no way to set or re-set the readings.

I want my money back! This doesn't work. The temperature doesn't read above 96. My poor son had a fever and I had no idea. I've tried it several times. I even have my friends try it hoping it's user error. Ugh

Reviewed 11 years agoTerribly inaccurate - Do Not Buy!
I bought this because I was looking for an easy way to take my toddlers temperature. This is terribly inaccurate and I wished I never purchased it. I can rarely get a reading above 91 degrees - my husband seems to be better at it and can sometimes get it to work. A product of this nature should not be so difficult to use. I should have spent a little more for something higher quality - that works.

Reviewed 12 years agoTerrible. You'd have better luck guessing.
It spits out random readings! This is a terrible purchase if you want an accurate temperature reading. I wish I had checked the rating on this thing before I bought it. First reading was 97.8. 2nd attempt read 99.8. Third read 98.6. I check it on myself out of curiousity and it read 100.2. My daughter is sick, not me.

My daughter had a temp of 97.8 on this thermometer. But she was burning up. I then checked rectally and her temp was 100.8
I purchased this thermometer thinking it would be less invasive and less bothersome to check my 16 month olds temp. But I was wrong. I had to push the button several times just to hear the "beep beep". It seems like it needs to be placed just so or it won't read . One time I read my own and it said 94.9. Really?? I had that thing placed in my ear canal.
Waste of money. The most accurate is and always will be rectal. Axillary next. That's why we do not use temporal or tympanic thermometers in the hospital. But I was hoping I could find out differently with this , Atleast for use with my child for rare occasions. It was too much of a hassle.

Reviewed 13 years agoCheap and decent ear thermometer.
I had my old ear thermometer for years, and I decided to get a new one. Picked this one up for $20 in store, when I was sick with the flu. On the contrary to other reviews, my thermometer was able to mark within the 97-101 range. It was able to detect a fever, and also tell me when I was cooling down. I tested it on other family members and had no problems.
I like that there are colors and beeps depending on your temperature, which makes it more user friendly. When it's above 100+ it starts beeping about 5-6 times, and when it is normal, you get 2 monotone beeps. It can't get any easier than this.
