How to get it

Reviewed 9 years agoTERRIBLE! 2nd one in 4 months. NO MORE!
I would warn anyone against buying this. We followed directions to the T (actually a bit more than to a T because we have slightly hard water) and STILL couldn't keep the white dust from building up. Once it builds up, your unit is DONE! When our 2nd one since Nov 14th of 2015 decided to quit on us, I had enough! What's disturbing is I bought, before this unit, a "store brand" unit that after 2 yrs eventually crudded out as well....BUT, that was $15 and it lasted 2 years! I definitely got my moneys worth out of that unit! We thought that by purchasing a "brand name" unit this time we might just get even more than 2 years out of it...WORST choice we could have made! Should have bought the store brand one again instead. To be fair, Vicks is sending me a new unit (a better unit...or so they say...If I can, I will update if I can when it arrives) for a warranty replacement which I appreciate but before we got to that point I WAS BLAMED (apparently cleaning every 2-3 days (and I mean COMPLETELY cleaning it out (I am a huge germ-a-phobe) and STILL got the build up that eventually caused the exact same malfunction!) was "not enough"?!?) for the problem. My water was blamed for the problem. Pretty much everything except Vicks accepting responsibility for this products obvious malfunction (I mean come on, look at the reviews! That was the mistake I made, I usually look at reviews before purchase, this time was different, I have 2 vicks humidifiers in the house that, knock on wood, work great and didn't find it necessary) until I asked to speak to a supervisor/manager....I never did get put on the phone with a manager BUT, the customer service reps whole attitude towards me changed when I asked to speak to a supervisor...sad that it had to come to that but the resolution was good so I guess I can't complain....Really wish CVS and ALL retail chains would "pull" this item OFF the shelves because it IS garbage! And on that note, I will leave you with this: BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!

Reviewed 11 years agoProduct is like a heater and keeps you warm from the steam!
This steamer works great, the people that said it didn't work obviously didn't use any salt or if they did they didn't use enough. My steamer throws out a boat load of steam non- stop for about 4 hours then it will start to wind down. The hot steam keeps my bedroom warm all winter I don' t ever have to turn on my heater.

Reviewed 12 years agoDon't make them like they used to, this doesn't make much "vapor"
I puchased this vaporizer to replace a cool mist vaporizer I'd been using for a few seasons with good results, but the cool mist one was noisy. I was hoping this unit would be a bit quieter. Overall I was disappointed. I used it for 2 days nearly 'round the clock, with little relief for my sore throat and dry, stuffy nose. My cool mist vaporizor used to have me cleared up in an evening. I noticed that this unit doesn't put out as much steam or vapor as their older models, but also there is now a plastic guard in front of the steam nozzle, probably as a protection against steam burns, but the guard also blocks and disappates the steam, so you can't aim this vaporizer as you could do with their older models. Disappointed overall...

Reviewed 13 years agoDidn't work
At first the product took 15 min. to produce steam, and there wasn't much steam. It stopped working after a couple hours. The second time I added salt like the directions said, and it didn't work at all. I returned it.

This product works wonders...when it works. You have to make sure you clean it out pretty much everyday. If not mineral deposits build up within just a couple days. And it is next to impossible to get it back working if that happens.
