I bought this to replace the old Crest Spinbrush I was previously using. This is much better - smaller design, smoother motor, easier to find replacement heads, and only needs one battery instead of 2 as in the Crest toothbrush. (And the single battery seems to last longer in the Oral B brush too.) My wife saw my new Oral B model and commented that it looked a lot better and less clunky than the larger Crest model, so I bought the whole family these, plus an extra one for my travel toiletry kit. That is how good these are. The smaller Oral B battery operated ones are OK, but I don't want to have to throw them away when the non-replaceable head wears out. IIRC, the battery can also be replaced on those, but the head wears out at around the same time as the battery. I am using Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable batteries in my toothbrush, and those last as long as disposable batteries in this toothbrush. Sorry to hear about the person who had mold in her toothbrush, but there are rinse holes in the back of the toothbrush that allow a person to rinse it out so no gunk builds up in it. I have not seen anything like that in mine. If this could be improved at all, it would be to make the heads last longer. I seem to get about 1.5 - 2 months out of them before the blue bristles show the wear mark (they are designed to fade to white as they wear out) about half way down the bristle. Also, the whitening heads seem to clean a bit better than the regular replacement ones that CVS stocks in stores. The whitening ones are available over at that big on-line merchant... Wish CVS carried the whitening replacement heads. But overall very happy with this toothbrush.
