I initially purchased what turned out to be a lesser product by another manufacturer but returned it when I realized the readings were inconsistent and inaccurate. The Omron series was recommended by a friend who is a nurse. This monitor is really easy to use and is very accurate.

I am a nurse and usually do blood pressures manually. My husband suddenly needed them taken frequently so I decided to get an automatic monitor. I was searching for one that I knew would be reliable. I chose this one because it sounded more technically up to date. I am very pleased with it's performance, ease of use and accuracy. It also saves a lot of my time.

The Omron 5 monitor Is very basic and easy to use. A simple hose connection from the cuff to the reading monitor is all that is needed for the unit to work. My advise is to read the instructions because the electronics of today have many more features built in. They provide much greater information than the earlier monitors. The cuff goes on either arm between the shoulder and the elbow for the best results. The cuff velcros in place an the only thing left to do is press the start button. This unit hasmy personal recommendation.

We have used these monitors in our clinical trials studies at my job and the doctors were very happy with their performance. When I was able to purchase the monitor for home use as to check my son's blood pressure as he was adjusting to new medication, I was very confident that it would be easy to use and accurate (and it has been).
