I bought this for my elderly mother who doesn't like electric openers for some reason. Once you get the hang of it, it is a snap. Turn the handle clockwise to work around the can. When you want it to release, you give it a small turn counterclockwise. This manual opener is the only one I could recommend for an older person with diminished strength in their hands, as it is easier than most to turn. You can't beat it for the price.
