Reviewed 9 years agoIt works, but...
I was using Ranitidine twice a day but it really didn't do the trick to relieve my symptoms which included painful gas pressure in my chest and that burning feeling. I thought I was having a heart attack. It kept me up before bedtime and prevented me from doing normal things like taking a shower without terrible discomfort. So I tried a combination of Omeprazole once a day and Ranitidine before going to bed and it still didn't help any. Finally I resorted to one Omeprazole capsule twice a day, and I finally have relief, as if I don't have heartburn symptoms at all, provided that I don't lean or bend over for too long or lie the wrong way and that pushes the acid back up my esophagus.
Not the cheapest drug to take twice daily, but it seems it's my only solution for stomach acid relief.

Prilosec was mentioned by my doctor but she also said pharmacy store brands work as well. It was a no brainer to purchase CVS Omeprazole as it was cheaper and to boot IT WORKS!!
