A basal thermometer is used first thing in the morning for a woman to track her lowest resting temperature. I just wanted to clarify that since one of the reviewers was upset not to get a 98.6 reading. That's not what this thermometer is for.
I use NFP for preventing and achieving pregnancy and have used many different basal thermometers. This one is my favorite because it's so easy to find in the dark when I am taking my temperature and the button is very easy to find too. Many thermometers leave me fumbling around for the button in the dark and this one has never given me this problem.
As far as temperature readings I have always been able to determine when I ovulated. Helps to time things accordingly if you know what I mean!
