This CVS product is exactly the same as the now missing, Maalox. The taste and consistency of the tables are the same.

If you were a user of Maalox products then you know that they have been off the market for 2 years with some mysterious shutdown. I have been searching everywhere for a product with the same ingredients and same strength as Maalox and finally found it in this product. It works, is more affordable and is AVAILABLE.
If you have been struggling with heartburn, etc., I recommend this product as a worthy and successful replacement to Maalox. Easy to order, and the shipping is reasonable.

As someone with life-long digestion "issues", these are the perfect replacement for "M" Advanced (you all know the brand name). One of the few antacids on the market with the correct combination of Calcium Carbonate (1000 mg) and Simethicone (60 mg), the formulation of my former go-to product of choice. Don't be held hostage by the fact you can not readily get the Novartis product without paying more than ten times retail. Buy the CVS product - it is the perfect replacement.

Dissolves completely in your mouth to a smooth consistency. Works fast & effectively. This is the only antacid & anti gas product I will use.

If you've sat through the past long dry spell since the Fall of 2011 when Novartis, the makers of Maalox products, among others, "temporarily" shut down production of many of their OTC products, you may know how desperate I've been to find a replacement for the only product that worked for my GI upset. At first I bought the Maalox Advance tablets wherever I could find them, including eBay, at ever increasing prices, rationing my consumption. I paid as much as 10x the original price to vendors who had clearly cornered the remaining supply. But about 6 weeks ago I refused to pay $85 for two small bottles. Novartis told me that production would be resumed "soon", but when?
What to do? Once again I began a search for the two active ingredients in the tablets: 1,000 mg calcium carbonate & 60 mg simethicone. And finally I came up with the exact combination that the Maalox Advance tablets had - these CVS tablets. I have found no other twin. Hurray! So I went in search of one of the rare CVS stores near me and bought a bottle. They taste very similar, not unpleasant, and more importantly, work as well!
And at $4.99 for 90 tablets (at times for even less), they are a true bargain! CVS guarantees your satisfaction, so you have nothing to lose but your indigestion. Like the original, they are easily kept in purse, car, desk, briefcase as well as at home.
Save your stomach and your wallet. I'm very happy indeed.
