Reviewed 10 years agoGreat alternative to pills
Since I take a proton pump inhibitor, there is no guarantee that calcium pills have a chance to be fully absorbed. These chews are tasty and easily chewed, and I have confidence that I can get all the good out of them.

I wish it came in larger quantities. A little expensive, but other stores are even more expensive.

Reviewed 11 years agoReally, HONESTLY tastes GREAT!
Believe me, I've had some fearful taste experiences with "chewable" drugs. Being both a texture eater and a picky Foodie doesn't make a good combination for taking drugs that are less than perfect as far as the "RIGHT" texture and consistency, and a flavor that's either too "fake" tasting, or no taste when they "say" it's Lemon-flavored and tastes like blackboard chalk....well....YOU know what I'm describing, right? CVS was reallllly wise when I ordered some stuff awhile ago, by sending samples of a few items along with the order. Included were these Caltrate Softchews. I was amazed, thinking these would be chalky tasteless nubs of medicine that I'd never want to chew on a daily basis. Wrong! They actually taste like a confection you'd pick-up at a candy store. True, they aren't as sticky as a caramel (which I actually am thankful for!) Nor are they quiiiite as creamy and silky smooth like real chocolate, but they are really quite tasty and make my mouth happy in the morning along with a really satisfying cup o' Joe to wash them down with. I honestly look forward to taking these! I just wish other drug manufacturers could take their cue to disguise their medicines like Caltrate has. Yes, I would actually give a friend or relative one to try, they're that good!

Reviewed 11 years agono Vitamin K and good tasting
I buy this for my mother who is in a nursing home. She has suffered a stroke in the past, so it is important that there is no Vitamin K, which can affect blood clotting, in the supplement. There are many chewable calcium products that do. She likes the flavor and it is the strength that her doctor recommended.

Reviewed 11 years agoGreat idea!
My kids loved it and they do not have the impression that I am forcing them to take a medication. Would love it you could have different flavors, one of my kids simply cannot eat chocolate or anything chocolate flavored. Thanks.

Definitely taste like chocolate and so easy to pop in two a day and get the recommended calcium. Great to carry in my purse, so I never forget.

Reviewed 13 years agoGreat!
When I used to take a calcium pill I would really feel ill. So I stopped taking them. Now I have to take calcium, and Caltrate Calcium & Vitamin D Soft Chews are a God send. There is no swallowing of a giant pill, instead it's like chewing a fresh soft tootsie roll! It's not chalky and even the vanilla creme one is good. Thank you Caltrate!
