The Vicks Forehead Thermometer is affordably priced and simple to use. We have used the type that goes in your ear and that is too difficult to use on a small child who will not sit still. This thermometer just requires a swipe of the forehead.

I bought this based on a recommendation from my sister-in-law who in turn got her recommendation from a nurse. I'd been taking readings with a regular digital thermometer under the arm. Even though not invasive, the kids (6 and 3) have a hard time staying still for that long. This thermometer works fast and seems to be accurate. I've tested it several times and get the same readings every time which did not happen with the ear readers (which is why I went back to under the arm). I'd been waiting for a thermometer that was fast AND accurate that didn't cost a hundred or more. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars, is the battery cover is located right where the thumb is placed and it's loose so it tries to slide open during a reading which is very annoying. I may have to tape it at some point.
