I like the size of the unit (much smaller footprint); the on/off switch is easily reachable on the front; and it is much quieter. However, the reservoir is much too small and the lid with extra nozzles is in a drawer (a nuisance to leave on the unit). The loud, older model was much more convenient and had I known I could get a new wand because the hose cracked before I threw it away, we would still have that one.
