Organic Pads

Organic pads absorb menstrual fluids to help keep you dry while using organic materials. They're similar to conventional pads and offer another option for your period protection. Explore the organic pad options at CVS.

Are Organic Pads Better?

Organic pads are similar to conventional pads in most ways. The main difference is the organic materials and lack of chemicals used in the processing. However, all period products are regulated to make sure they're safe to use and only have trace amounts of chemicals, so there's typically not much difference. Organic pads might be a little easier on the environment, though, since they break down a lot faster than conventional pads, which often include synthetic materials. Brands such as Cora and Organyc produce high-quality organic pads for people who prefer to use organic period products. Trying different brands and types of pads can help you settle on one that works best for you.

What Types of Organic Pads Are Available?

You can choose from a variety of organic pads, many of which are similar to their conventional counterparts. They come in a variety of absorbency levels, from light and regular absorbency to overnight and super absorbency pads. This makes it easier to match the pad to your flow throughout your period. You can also choose organic pads with wings or pads without, depending on your preferences. Wings can give you a little extra coverage on the sides and keep the pads from shifting.

Do Organic Pads Help With Cramps?

Since organic period products don't have an impact on your menstrual cycle, it's also unlikely that they'd make any difference in your cramps. If you have uncomfortable cramping during your periods, you can try various period pain-relief products to ease the discomfort. Other things that might help include applying heat, eating nutrient-packed foods, taking vitamin supplements and exercising.
