Super Pads
Super Pads
Heavy periods call for the extra absorbency of super pads to help you stay dry and go longer between changes. Super-heavy flow pads are available in different styles and types to fit your preferences. CVS offers several brands and styles to handle your heavy-flow days.
How Long Do Super Pads Last?
Super pads should last around 3-4 hours before they need to be changed if the feminine hygiene product is sized correctly based on your flow. If you have an extra-heavy period, you might have to change the disposable pad after an hour or two. Toward the end of your period when your flow slows down, you might be able to wait longer before you need to change the pad.
When Should You Use Super Pads?
Super pads are ideal on heavy-flow days since they offer increased absorbency and hold more fluid than light or regular pads. They also work well overnight for many people. The increased absorbency can often allow the pad to last all night without leaking. If your period isn't very heavy, regular-absorbency pads might offer enough protection for you throughout your period. If you find that super pads are full within an hour or two, super-plus absorbency pads could be a better fit since they hold more liquid. Having a variety of absorbency levels on hand keeps you prepared as your flow fluctuates throughout your period.
Are There Different Types of Super Pads?
Super pads all hold a similar amount of fluid, but they have other features that can help you choose the one that's right for you. Some features to look for include:
Length
Scent
Wings or no wings
Thickness
Length is one of the biggest considerations. In addition to the regular length, you can opt for long or extra-long varieties to increase coverage and cut down on leaks. Long super pads can prevent fluids from leaking onto the front or back of your underwear. You can get scented super-absorbency pads or go with an unscented option based on your preferences. Another variation is the availability of wings on the pad. Some people prefer wings as a leak-protection option along the sides, and they help keep super pads in place for better overall protection. Since super pads tend to be bigger and thicker than lower-absorbency pads, choosing thin pads can result in less bulkiness and increased comfort.
