Robitussin Cold Medicine

Robitussin for colds is an over-the-counter medication that’s often used to help relieve symptoms of the common cold and upper respiratory tract infections. It may help relieve congestion, coughing and chest discomfort.

Because it contains an antihistamine, the nighttime Robitussin formulas may cause drowsiness; the daytime formulas without antihistamines normally don't have this effect. However, some people may experience side effects, such as drowsiness, dizziness and upset stomach. If these occur, they’re usually mild and go away on their own after a short time.
