Tasty, High-Quality Minute Maid Juice

Quench your thirst with a swig of delicious Minute Maid juice. Find these beverages and other drinks and snacks at CVS.

Does Minute Maid Juice Have to Be Refrigerated?

Ready-to-drink Minute Maid products that come already chilled are made without additional preservatives and must be kept in your refrigerator to prevent spoilage. It doesn’t matter if these bottles are opened or completely sealed — if they come from the refrigerator section of your supermarket, they should be kept in your refrigerator when you get home, too.

Some Minute Maid juice flavors are shelf-stable, meaning they can be stored at room temperature on your kitchen counter or in a pantry. Once shelf-stable juices have been opened, they must be refrigerated until the juice is fully consumed.

Does Minute Maid Juice Expire?

All Minute Maid juice comes with a printed “best if used by” date on the packaging. This replaces the expiration date people often look for and serves as an indication of how long you have to drink your juice. Best-by dates are created under the assumption that the juice remains unopened and the consumer follows manufacturer recommendations for storage. Juice doesn’t necessarily spoil after the best-by date passes, but you may notice a drop in quality and flavor.

On Minute Maid juice bottles, including single-service options such as the 12 OZ Minute Maid orange juice, you can often find the best-by date on the front of the package. The date is printed on the top of juice boxes and pouches and near the tear strip on frozen cans of Minute Maid juice.

Some juices should be consumed within 7-10 days of opening, even if they’re stored in the fridge. Look for storage recommendations on your juice bottle or box.

Is Minute Maid Juice Pasteurized?

Like most commercially available juices and juice-containing beverages, Minute Maid juice is pasteurized for safety reasons. This common heat treatment kills harmful bacteria, giving juice lovers everywhere access to a safer, more consistent product. Minute Maid incorporates a minimal form of pasteurization that helps preserve the taste of the juice.

This is all part of a meticulous process that starts with carefully picking fruit at peak ripeness, washing and sorting fruit for quality purposes and using the collected juice to make concentrated juice and other Minute Maid products.
