Another Winner in the Gillette Line-up
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To preface this, I have been using Gillette razors and shaving products for over 20 years. The value and quality of the brand was only reinforced when I arrived (many years ago) at US Marine Corps boot camp and was handed a Gillette razor to maintain military standards! I have watched their product lines evolve since those days as a teenager and the new Chill Razor with Flexball Technology is another winner! I f you are familiar with the current line of Fusion blades, the design is essentially the same, but with the addition of lubricating strips before and after the cutting blades. Since I normally use the Fusion Proglide blades, I was curious how well these would work and whether or not the 'chill' effect would really be felt. Out of the box, the look is familiar, but also differentiates itself, with the "Gillette" name stamped into the lower lubrication strip (a substantially large strip at that), and the blue color obviously sets it apart from others in the series as the "Chill" version. The upper strip also appears more substantial than the Proglide's upper strip (above the blades) that inevitably shrinks after a few uses...so maybe this one will last longer. Check out the pic to see what I mean. I have sensitive skin, and normally shave every other day--not for lack of growth, but simply to keep my skin happier from less irritation. So, I looked forward to the potential benefits of the new additional lower strip and seeming larger upper, but was honestly not expecting much from the 'chill' of their 'cooling technology'. Until a few months ago, I used the older style razor handle without the Flexball...frankly, I didn't consider the shape of my face truly in need of the the Flexball feature, but a while back there was a sale and I got some replacement razors that happened to come with a Flexball handle. After trying it, I found that it did in-fact help follow the lines of my face and reduced the need for additional strokes to get all the hairs around my jawline. Now, I wouldn't think of going back. I also took advantage of the fact that you can use the Fusion blades on any of Gillette's handles and popped the Prosheild Chill razor onto my Fusion Power handle. I'm still not sure if the power feature is a gimmick or truly assists in the shave, but I do believe that the vibration does help -- if nothing else it makes the 'scraping' of the razor over the hairs on my face less obvious and overall provides a smoother feel. Given that fact alone, I prefer the power handles over the non-power. On first use, it actually did seem to glide a bit smoother across my face, with less tugging on the longer hairs...the added lubrication appeared to be doing it's job! I was able to complete shaving in what felt like less time, as I didn't have to be quite as careful around the nose/lips, not to mention the thicker patches of a 2-day growth. While shaving, I didn't feel much on my skin in terms of the cooling effect and kind of forgot about it. I finished, the shave, splashed some water on my face and jumped in the shower, during which I promptly washed my face as I always do after a shave...still no major 'chill'...then I gradually started to feel it. Unlike some other products that shock you with a menthol cold feeling that can be uncomfortable, this was more gradual and actually soothing. It could be that the heat of the shower acted as a catalyst, but it also felt like this was by design--to set in after the shave was complete. Surprisingly, I liked the effect and even more surprising, the cool feeling lasted for quite some time after I'd showered and gotten dressed. Honestly, I thought that given my ritual of cleaning my face right after shaving, I would not feel the 'chill' that was intended, however I was pleasantly wrong. After the 2nd shave with this razor, I again got the same cooling feeling, albeit not quite as strong as the first time...I would expect the feeling to diminish slightly over time as the strip is used. Thus far, I've been very happy with it and it has only reinforced my opinion of the Gillette brand. I will continue to use their Fusion products. Will I opt for the Proshield Chill razor next time I buy more replacement Gillette razors? Maybe. Would I pay more for the cooling feature? No, probably not; but it was a nice refreshing addition to a blade style I was already comfortable and familiar with. Also, given my sensitive skin, it did not cause any irritation during or after the shave--the same can not be said of most products--so a definite plus there!

The next iteration of the leading premium razor
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me cut through some of the marketing fluff here. Thankfully this handle uses the same fitment as previous Gillette Fusion blades, so you can really consider the handle and the blades separately. Previous handles have had various gimmicks. My last one contained a vibrator. This one has a spring-loaded head which yaws. This did not cause me any problems in using it, but nor did I see the advantage. The development with the blades comes down to the leading edge of the cartridge. Instead of rubber fins, it has another lubrication strip. I have a beard, but like to shave my neck to keep it tidy. I do like the lubrication because it means I can shave quickly without needing anything else but water. I have fairly sensitive skin and this did not cause redness. A down side of blades with lubrication is the concern that the lubrication may well wear out before the blades. I can see why the marketers thought this was a good idea. In practice, I find they get gunked up beyond cleaning before the lubrication runs out or the blades get dull, just like previous multi-bladed designs. Maybe I leave too long between shaves! Gillette sent this unit to me for free in exchange for an honest review.

Excellent shave
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used all kinds of disposable razors and refillable razors, I have very few picks on either that I like, are a good razor and give a good shave. This razor is now included in that select list of good razors that give a great shave.

Smooth and Clean
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got a sample of Gillette Fusion proshield and was impressed of At the high end qualityof this product. I had run out of shaving cream and decided to shave without it and was impressed that there was no hair pulling and it still left my skin moisturized, that goes without saying my skin wasn't irritated. I would highly recommend this shavers.

Overall, good razor.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So just a disclaimer, coming from Schick Hydro. I've used GIllette razers before, but switched to Schick while back, because they felt softer. Anyway, back to this razer. As title said - I would use it again. Whether it's the best is questionable. It does give me closer shave than my Hydro. I can tell it moves better along my skin, which is probably why it's closer. The same number of blades. Easier to clean, hydro requires more water rinsing. But Hydro feels better (without battery activated motor), it's smoother and leaves skin more moisturized somehow. I know they put pads on both front and back of the blades, but it's not as smooth feeling, rougher I guess. Skin was more irritated after I used it. So, would I use it again, yes, would I prefer it over everything else, including my Hydro... depends, for every day - no, I prefer Hydro, but when I need a very close shave (for some events maybe), I'd use it. Hope this helps. I received razer as a try out for free from Gillette. This is my honest opinion about it.

Smoothest Gillette yet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Razor from Gillette for free to write this review. Previously I was using the Gillette Pro Fusion razor. The Flexball razor with the new head definitely provides a smooth clean shave. I also noticed less pulling with the new head. As for quality of shave, just as good as any other multi-blade razor. I generally prefer electric shavers as they get closer, however for the purpose of this review I decided I would shave against the grain as well to try and get that electric smooth shave. I did nick myself a few times on the upstroke, however not sure the blade can be blamed for that. Shaving with the grain the razor works as well as any other. I also like the edging blade which allowed for trimming of the sideburns and goatee.

Smooth feel, no irritation
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried the razor under two different circumstances. First, I tried the razor on back to back shaves (days) so with smaller stubble the shave was smooth and easy and my face felt good afterwards. This is obviously the best method. Second, I tried the razor after not shaving for a few days allowing my facial hair to grow a little longer. This led to the shave itself having a little more pull during each stroke, BUT the number of strokes barely increased for the entire shave and my face felt just as good as the back to back test. Overall, it is a brand and version of product that I would continue to use and if asked I would definitely recommend it.

Jack of all trades
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If your looking for a razor that can do it all look no further. Nice soothing and comfortable shave. Plus a trimmer on the back that keeps your trimming straight as can be.
