Why does this travel walker look so different than typical walkers?

We set out to change people’s expectations for how DME products work, look and most importantly, make users feel. For the walker, we wanted it to look more active, which is why we were inspired by bicycle handlebars as opposed to medical equipment.

Why does this easy fold travel walker have such a unique center column?

The center column design creates greater clearance for transfers and enables users’ better access to counters and tables because it is less obstructive than a typical square configuration. Also, when folded, the center column has a better center of gravity, gives a stable comfortable place to hold the walker and makes placement in and out of cars much easier.

Are there any other benefits of the unique center column?

Yes, it enabled three points of height adjustment versus the typical four points, making it a better user experience.

Why is the angle of the grips on the walker different than a typical walker?

The grips on this walker feature an innovative Active Angle grip that were designed to improve user experience. While most walker grips are parallel to the ground, these grips angle down towards the front to help improve standing posture.

Most walkers have no brakes. Why does this Michael Graves walker have brakes?

For safety reasons, walkers are ideally used with no wheels. However, for people who lack the strength needed to lift a walker, the wheels provide a nice option. Our foot activated brakes enable people to lock the wheels which makes standing up with the walker and other transfers safer.

Should I lock the brakes when I fold up the walker when the wheels are on?

Yes, lock the brakes before folding it up, so you can lean the folded walker against the wall to keep it from sliding down the wall.

Can I just set the height once and then forget about it?

Unless advised differently by your medical professional, the height of the walker should be set so the grips reach the crease of your wrist. This height could vary when you are barefoot, wearing flat shoes or shoes with thicker soles. Consider adjusting the height accordingly.

Where do I find replacement wheels for my walker?

Replacement wheels are available on cvs.com. SKU #243577
