I was so excited to find a hydrocolloid bandage in my local grocery store, as I had done some research on the acne patches made of the same stuff and was excited to be able to use them to heal other cuts with minimal scarring. I was even more impressed that these were supposedly waterproof and could be worn for several days. I finally took the plunge and bought these (they're a little more expensive than I would normally purchase bandages for) when I got a pretty nasty gash on my heel at work one night. I burned through half the box of these in one night, they wouldn't stay attached at all! After the first one, I thought maybe I had some excess oils or lotions on the area, so I swabbed the entire area with rubbing alcohol to clean and dry the area, that still didn't work so then I thought maybe it was because my heel was too dry and flaky, so I even used an exfolliator and let it dry again before trying again, still no luck, thought maybe it didn't dry thoroughly, so I waited longer, still didn't stick.
Eventually I gave up and gave it a few days before trying again, still no luck! Band-aid seriously needs to improve the adhesive on these bandages. I think they could be a wonderful product if they just worked as advertised.

I have a gash on the middle of my forehead next to my eyebrow, and had such trust in covering the wound, so there is little scarring...well I put one on, and had to take a shower...no worries, right...waterproof and all...I got out of the shower (the water barely touched my eye area) and this great, wonderful Bandaid was unsealed in numerous places! I am furious. I trusted Bandaid...not anymore! I'll use Nexcare from now on, and I'm probably going to have a huge, ugly scar, because I have to replace this effing Bandaid, which will tear off the skin that WAS protecting the gash! I have little faith that I wont have a huge scar that was totally preventable had the product lived up to its promises! I'm disgusted...Bandaid is NOT what it used to be, and that was the #1 bandage...more like #5 now... THANKS Bandaid for ruining my face!!!

Even with completely dry skin, it won't stick well. Noticed it falling off after 2nd day following a shower, so it doesn't a) stick to skin or b) actually hydro-seal.

It came off and took my SKIN WITH IT. Wore for 5 days and within 12 hours the white bubble appears ant it seamed to be healing and on day 5 I woke up and the bandaid took to layers of my skin off around wond!!!!

I had given myself a pretty good cut on my left index finger while trying to remove an avocado pit. I tried the Hydro Seal bandages since I needed a secure adhesion. These worked even better than I expected! It stayed firm through a 60 minute aqua aerobics class, washing dishes, showering, etc. - for three full days. The edges stayed sealed, and it was dry to the touch. Even though they're more expensive than regular bandages, you don't go through them quickly. You don't have to worry about them loosening if they get wet. I love these!
