The second-generation Provox prosthesis (Provox2) was introduced in 1997. Provox2 is a low-resistance, indwelling silicone voice prosthesis that can be inserted.
- Immediately after primary or secondary TE puncture, without the need for temporary stenting. This retrograde insertion method is to be performed by a physician using the Provox guidewire
- As a replacement prosthesis for the Provox (1) or other voice prostheses
- In an anterograde manner using the single-use insertion tool. This preferred method can be performed by trained health care professionals
- Low airflow resistance
- Easy maintenance
- Safe placement
- Detectable in X-ray
- High success rate
- Provox2 is sterile.
- For single use
- The stable flanges of the Provox2 voice prosthesis facilitate immediate confirmation of whether the device is correctly in place
- The slightly concave shape of the tracheal flange of the Provox2 voice prosthesis helps ensure a proper fit even if the puncture length changes slightly
- A Provox2 training kit is available to practice anterograde insertion
