I had very severe, dry, geneticly induced dry skin which in the wintertime resembled tree bark. After having tried almost every cream and lotion there is, with only mild results, after over 78 years since birth, this truly is a miracle!
A wonderful nurse who was prepping me for surgery in the hospital recommended Amlactin. I tried it and have been praising it to everyone ever since. I used a lot at first, then tapered off as my skin improved, and now my skin all over my body and feet is as smooth as a baby's you-know-what!

Reviewed 11 years agoThe best for seriously dry legs!
I first tried Amlactin as a recommended remedy for keratosis pilaris (those little bumps on the back of your upper arms and legs), and I do feel it's helped some in that regard. But I keep using it (in spite of the price) because it is the only thing I've found that will keep my legs moisturized and comfortable in the winter. I tend to get dry and itchy skin, but the other brands that are supposedly meant for this (Aveeno, Eucerin) haven't worked for me. This does! And it's not thick, so it's easy to spread over a larger area and lasts longer than you'd think.

The alpha-hydroxy contained should help the epidermis renewal.
Yet, the feeling after applying it is somewhat waxy. After a few hours, when the waxy coat goes away the skin does have a natural velvety feel.
Massaging it well is important.
I only gave it 3 stars because I still compare the body lotions with the one that I consider top of the line -Epicuren-which is even more expensive (about 3 times).

I have had cracked heels for many years and nothing worked to heal the skin. The cracks were so bad that they went down into the skin and made it painful to walk. At first, I used it several times a day until my feet healed. My doc recommended this and now as long as I use it every night, my heels look great. Expensive, but worth it because it works.

This lotion works wonders! I've always had what my family calls "chicken skin" - little, tiny bumps on my arms and dryness all over no matter what kind of lotion I used. Well, no more bumps and I have the smoothest skin for the first time in my life!

I have Keratosis pilaris and I thought this would help out...but it gave me the worse rash ever. I was embarrassed for a few weeks and even had to wear long sleeves.
It might work for you, DEFINITELY did not work for me. I had success with this brand called Shea Moisture, with their african black soap lotion and body wash. That stuff is made with organic ingredients also.

This is the BEST moisturizing body lotion I have ever used!! After using AmLactin for one week, my skin went from rough and dry to the smoothest skin I have ever had. I read other reviews about this product and decided I would give it a try. The price almost stopped me from buying it. But now that price is inexpensive compared to how well it hydrates my skin. I have told everyone about this product. It truly is fantastic!!
